When monitoring a server by the ICMP protocol, the network monitoring program periodically sends ICMP request packet to the server and waits for the reply. The program states that the server is up if at least one server reply was received during a single server check procedure.

To set up the program to monitor your network device with the use of this network monitoring type please specify the server IP address the ICMP packet will be sent to. You can also set the maximum number of retries the program will try to send the packet to the remote address and the number of seconds it will wait for the response before trying to send the packet for the next time or stating that the server is not responding.
