In this monitoring type the internet monitor program periodically requests the remote HTTP, HTTPS or FTP server to send the HTTP/FTP header for the file specified in the form of an URL in the Server Properties Dialog below, and checks for the server error code while receiving the header. The program will also retrieve the whole file and check whether the file contains the search strings specified in the Server Properties Dialog:

To set up this internet monitor program to continuously check an URL please specify a protocol you wish to use (HTTP, HTTPS or FTP) and the URL of the document the program will monitor for you. You can also specify optional monitoring parameters, such login and password required to get the file from the remote server, and as proxy server address with or without the proxy authentication information.

With this program you can not only monitor the internet file existence/accessibility, but also the file contents by retrieving the whole file from the server and searching it's contents for certain strings specified by the Network Administrator. To make the program do so please fill the multi-line text box (see above) with the file contents search strings and specify whether the condition is met if the file contains only one of the strings specified or it should contain all listed strings.
