User-defined information
With version 1.4 Alchemy Network Inventory will allow you to specify your own information tabs and manually fill them in with your own data. This can
be useful whenever you need to store some additional information together with the information gathered from the user's workstations.
For example, suppose you would like to have the physical location information (building, floor, room, etc.) in the computer information file. All you need to do is to start the ADMIN.EXE module, click File|Preferences and:
- Create a new "Category" named "Physical Location"
- Under this category create "Items" named "Building", "Floor" and "Room" as is displayed in the picture below:
- Click OK.
- In the Computer Information Window select the new Physical Location tab
- For each computer fill in the "Building", "Floor" and "Room" fields as is displayed in the picture below:
