Computer Inventory

Actually, there are two ways of performing computer inventory in Asset Tracker for Networks. The first way is fast and simple; the other one requires more time for configuration but finally brings you better results.

When using the first method, you start the program, click the File|InventoryNetwork menu item, wait a bit and get the results. Sounds like a tale; however, there are some minor issues here.

First of all, with this method you will be able to process only computers that are currently turned on and logged into your network. Regardless to say that you will be able to process the ones that aren't later - but it will be really later, not now. Please also keep in mind that some of the computers you are inventorying now can probably be busy processing important tasks - and computer inventory process might require certain processor resources.

That is why we recommend the other method of PC inventory that requires a bit more time for configuration but is much more stable and reliable than this one.
