Remote Control Inventory Software

It is very important that the software that will collect inventory information about your network works remotelly, i.e. does not require an agent module to be manually installed on each individual PC in the corporate network.

However, a remote control inventory software that works absolutelly remotelly (e.g. thru WMI) will not be able to collect enough detailed information about the target PC. For example, it won't be able to retrieve the computer BIOS information which stores important computer details such as computer serial number or amount of memory which can be installed.

Good remote control inventory software products, such as Asset Tracker for Networks, combine both methods. They do not require the Network Administrator to install an agent module to the remote PC's but do this themselves transparently for the user. This method combines ease of the completely remote tools that work thru WMI and accuracy of the agent-enabled inventory tools.
